I would buy all, but can only one. the size of the Millie isn't a big deal. I owned a para1 and liked it. the grip I've always hated the cheap feeling handles. but the g10 and stand offs make it legit. just want the most reliable.

I've owned the three you mentioned, and my pick would be the Military. The handle fit my hand better and the action was crazy smooth. I wasn't impressed with the Para 2, too small and the lock wasn't my favorite. The Griptillian is good, I had the regular model 551 and I carried it a lot but it was a pain to take apart and reassemble so I sold it.

The para 2 is a big upgrade from the first, from shape to the clip.

Also there are just as many sprint runs of each in super steel.
I prefer the para. The lock is better. This is a little big knife as they say. The lock geometry and tip down carry are just two things I dont care for on the military.

After that I would get the grip.
That is an amazing knife and lock as well. I prefer the ritter grip in M390 . That might just sway you.

Watch some the many tube videos of the two knives, they are compared all of the time.

Para 2 all the way. Great ergos, perfect amount of FFG blade, and the Compression lock.

It's a hell of a knife.

I have a para 2 and had an REI grip. Both fantastic knives, I just like the way the para 2 carries better, slimmer in the pocket. However the G10 handles on the grip are leaps and bounds nicer than the plastic handles on the regular models, and the S30V steel is the icing on the cake.
I'd go for a para 2 if you want a slimmer knife that feels more secure in the hand.
Griptilian if the thickness doesn't bother you, it is a bit slippery though the G10 is milled and smooth.
Military is too big for me, plus tip down is a no go.

I got to play with the REI grip a couple of days ago. Really loved it felt solid. I love the no bullshit construction and attitude of the para 2. stupid hard decision.

Easy, buy one, if you don't like it sell it then try the other.

I've had many pm2's and Millie's. I've had one model 550 but sold it soon after.
I am strictly a spyderco nut. My favorite is the pm2 for more casual carry; the military if I were placed in a tough situation...aka war or survival environment.

.

I don't care about what people think and all the knives are legal. I have had a Millie in pocket and thought it would be fine. That said Millie or p2? Is there anything that the Millie does better?

Big yes for me. It fits my hand much better. I wear xl gloves and like a bit of handle sticking out the back of my hand for a secure and comfortable grip. Blade length has nothing to do with it for me. Military hands down.
Don't let the clip position get in your way either, it's easily remedied.

If "most reliable" is a major concern, I'd say go with one of the Spydercos. Spyderco's liner locks and compression locks are close to bulletproof. S30V is a really good all-around blade steel, and Spyderco's texturing on their G10 scales is very user-friendly. Pick the one that seems like it would fit your hand best.

Don't be put off by a concern about the "fragile" tips. They aren't. For a few years my "go-to" camping folder was a Military and it did very well in the usual camping chores. I've carried a PM 1 or PM 2 for an everyday work folder off and on for 5 or 6 years now (on the rare occasions that I don't carry an Emerson). All of those knives still have their original tips and none of the blades are chipped or damaged in any way.
