Thought you guys might like to see how I make titanium bolstered 110's

Milled blanks on the bench and ready for "shaping" (lots of drilling, hacksawing and sanding)

Thanks Jerad!

I see the beginnings of a knife.
Is the cross milling actually cutting out where handle covers will go?

I've got a number of your knives and always wondered what processes you had to go through to make them.

Interesting stuff. Would love to see a work in progress in this thread. :)

Mark, that's the void for the scales. It takes about 200 passes with a 3/8" carbide bit on the titanium to get the .170" void.

Below is a picture of the bolsters rough shaped. I'm not sure what to put in this one, but I'm thinking some wood or Elk Stag with scale pins.

I'll continue to update as I go :)

Titanium frame and bolsters, textured blaze orange G10 scales, s30v blade............DREAM 110! :)

Very cool... My best friend works for a very large Ti casting facility. They make jet engine parts, military plane components, and artificial shoulders.

Next project : Ti with silver tweed carbon fiber scales, and an M390 or Damascus blade :D

I managed to find some nice sections of Ironwood and fit the scales today. Scale pins are really growing on me.

This is an awesome thread!

I just love the desert ironwood! I want one just like it!

Thanks for sharing and taking us along!

Here it is finished, along side a gold anodized titanium bolstered with titanium screws. It's not quite done yet.
