Hi everyone,

I'm trying to get into a very simple/amateur handle modding and was wondering how you guys mill out G-10 for nested liners? I spent quite some time searching the forum for nested liner materials and how to mill out G-10. Couldn't find anything. Really hope you guys could help. This will become my hobby to relieve stress from work. (hope it doesn't add on :D )

Stay safe,
-Chris

hi c.joe, i rescaled a folder with some green g-11 and it required some "milling" for the spring, anyhow small endmill in my drill press i secured a nice base to slide another piece of wood on top of set my depth, held on tight and manually milled out the area i need gone....not safe but it worked! good luck

A drill press or router with an end-cutting bit are the only options I can think of if you don't have a mill. In the case of a router, a template would probably be necessary and fixturing would be easier if the scales are not cut yet so that you can fixture a larger sheet of material.

Thanks for the replies. When you mean "fixturing" do you mean throwing two slabs of metal over the G-10 rather then putting it into the G-10?

Fixturing refers to the means of holding the workpiece in place for machining operations, and/or holding any templates, jigs, or other apparatus that are used during machining.
