Milling/sculpting micarta help?

I want to do some sculpting on the scales of my Junglas. I am doing a bunch of mods to it and bought it for that reason. The only thing I am not too sure on is working with micarta. I want to do the groves that alternate top and bottom. Hard to describe. The pattern is not the issue. Are there any good tutorials around(here or elsewhere) that address particulars. I know you have to watch speed (I'll be using a Dremel) so as not to over heat. Looking for grits, finishing and so on. My searches on Google, YT etc have not turned up much. Thanks if you can help or point me in the right direction.
