Millitary or Manix

Manix. First off its a lock back but I love the blade shape much better on the Manix over the Military. It just seems better for general utility and because of the handle choil and grip it was easier for me to control when detail cutting using the tip 1/3rd of the blade.

I have both. I just got the Manix C95GPS and it IS Awsome. But I like the Military more at this time. The reason is the Liner Lock. I have to use my Mili with one hand often and I am very comfortable doing this with one hand. I also like the SIZE for what I do. But really... You could not go wrong with either. Get em both!!!! ~baba~

Thanks I just finished that one today.

If you never, ever want to consider the knife for defensive use, go with the military. The manix is much heavier duty with a better handle shape for defense but then again, I don't trust lockbacks. Either would be a good utility knife but the military is thin and light while still having a very good blade.

I like both. The Manix is arguably Spydercos toughest folder. I love mine. The military is a better seller and as others have stated is lighter and thinner. Bot knives are great and made by an exceptional company.

A 'Military' and not good for SD?

I prefer the military- its light, slim, easy to clean, lock mechanism will function in adverse conditions, has a smooth opening and can handle all the chores I need it to do. Plus it was designed specifically for those in the armed forces...
The manix has alot of the features afis prefer: leaf shaped blade, full liners, lockback, g-10 and big handle & size. When I got the manix, I loved the knife but it was simply too heavy to be my edc... First choice for camping, construction work or yard work though!
Both the manix and military are big knives, still have the military but use my paramil & mini-manix more.

I like the Manix overall. A lot of folks think it's too heavy and big to edc, but I don't. Aside from the weight and bulk, I think the Manix is better (for me) in all other aspects.

I've got both and I like the Manix more. The Military is lighter and slimmer, but I like the hefty feel of the chunky Manix.

I prefer the Manix. Both are tough, although Manix is a bit tougher that isn't one of my real deciding factors. I find the ergonomics much better and as well as its cutting ability, so my vote goes to the Manix.

I agree with destroythealter about the ergonomics. The Military seems a little clumsy by comparison.

Manix, Manix, Manix! I got a sheath off eBay that is designed for the Manix and that's how I carry the knife instead of clipped to my pocket. I like the weight of the knife and the ergonomics of the handle. BTW, this knife is very sharp coming from the factory compared to all my knives I've bought new.

I bought both. The Military is my EDC and I will use the Manix as a backup outdoor knife. The Manix will be here tomorrow, hopefully, and I expect it to be as good as everyone says. MV out!
