Anyone own one of these? I like the idea but that price is insane. Just wondering about it. Seems like a pretty futuristic knife that would be neat to have( although not for a very long time...I am no millionaire and have a lot of things to do before I spend that kind of money on a knife).

Thanks guys

Looks like something for the next Chronicles of Riddick movie.

It'd be nice if the makers would explain the purpose of the design, since it advertised to be some sort of "combat" knife.

I've got the MA-2/II http://miltner-adams.com/products/ma-2_ti-neck2.html

It's pretty cool, actually. Since it's a smaller version of the MA-4, I imagine they work about the same. The grip is great. You hold it securely by your fingers, your hand is still free. The effect is similar to La Griffe (Emerson or Perrin). It pops out of that funky sheath cleanly, even though it's nice and tight until you release it.

A thousand dollars ... wow ... he won't have to sell many of them at that price to make it all worthwhile. But I can't see the benefit. The 154 CM is good enough for me. :)

For $1000 us ;

darrell ralph

r.j martin

brian tighe

and about 10 others

i cant think of 1 PRODUCTION knife id pay over $500 for.

$1000 US

i'd grab an SMF + sebbenza+ about 6 Tenacious for that.

but whatever floats your boat, it's your hard earned...

its your money, but WHAT A RIP OFF

I already own a colossal collection of knives ranging from Cold Steel & Boker to Emersons and Spydercos. I have a collection of well over $8,000. My gorgeous CS San Mai Kukri machete cost around $400 alone, and I think it's worth every penny. My CS Hatamoto was about $250 and it's just a uniquely upscale folder; one of my favorites.

The uncommon, distinctive traits of the Miltner Adams MA-4/II sucked me in immediately after I saw the video on You Tube about a year ago. I've been eye-balling this Klingon belt knife for ages and finally decided to experience this thing for myself, due to the lack of reviews and info from others on this blade. I've always been intrigued with the carry method, extraction mechanism, grip design, and field sharpening function. I mean, this thing seems promising! I took the same kind of risk with the Wicked Edge sharpening system, and I was glad that I did, because it's an amazing sharpener.

Sure, instead of buying knives, I could've purchased many things that may be considered more useful to others... like another motorcycle, a two tier doghouse, etc. But I'm at the point where there's nothing more I want than to further expand my knife collection. I have an entire room in my house dedicated to firearms and knives, and it's simply gorgeous.

I'll upload photos in another post when I receive my MA-4/2 it should be here in another week. However, my CS Tai-Pan and San Mai Kukri are State-side, and I won't be able to upload photos of those two in particular anytime soon, but the photos I'll prepare will be a treat for sure.

Yes, the MA-2/II. I'm going to get one of these myself when I get a chance. I'd sooner settle for the 440C Boker at $20, instead of the $120-$170 Miltner Adams versions. Does anyone know if it comes with the same sheath as what's sold on the Miltner Adams website?

Explosive bonding/welding is expensive. . . (That expensive? I don't know)

Not that the novelty it offers is worth the premium.

Gosen, the sheath is very similar but actually has a better belt attachment than the wire-frame gizmo on the M/A.

yes the price does not match the knife but being a new type of mateial bonding it will be expensive.i do believe soon there will be copies with just as good of steel. i do like the way you can sharpen it and the sheath if you want to call it that.i think other knife companies should look into sheath in this design. but as you i am not rich and beleive it is overpriced by 60%

The original Miltner Adams must be made out of very expensive materials as the Boker versions are very affordable. They do look very futuristic and are obviously vulnerable to all kinds of derisive comments. Nevertheless I think they look pretty cool and I may well still get one.
The Miltner Adams website is pretty funny. It's so over the top macho that it makes Cold Steel look very restrained.
