MIM and/or Studlock SkunkWorks?

Hey Thomas and Kershaw Gods.

just wondering if any other M.I.M. blades were in the works?

also any studlock offerings in the future on new models? particularly any with the lock safety on the Mini Mojo/Mojito?

out of curiosity and an ever growing obsession

Slade, OE and I have been beating the "Mini Mojo/Mojito on Steroids" drum for quite some time now. That would be a beautiful piece, either with 13C26 or the newer version, or even done up in a sprint run, with a ZDP or composite blade. I'd love to have one about 8 1/2 inches long, with a 3 1/2 to 3 3/4 inch blade. Imagine a Bump sized Mojito...who wouldn't kick their grandma to get one!

But then again, Thomas, in all his generosity, would offer up one in a give-away, I'd win it, and then someone...coughoffsetlovercough...would come in and snake it away from me...so I guess I'll never see one in my lifetime...

There is another MIM blade we are working on, no details as of today, but we hope to debut it at this years Blade Show in June.

Nothing as of today.

I would like to voice my opinion that a full sized Mojito would be a great idea.
That knife is feature packed, and a bigger one would only make it better.
If you don't want to wait, the ZT0200 seems to share a lot of curves and design aspects in common with the Mini-Mojito. Just without the cool lock and safety (or AO).

Here's a comparison of the two (the ZT0200 is the prototype version, but it shows the similarities better).

Close, very close. But we still need the neat safety/flipper combo and tip up option!

On a side note, I've owned my first Bump for about 24 hours now...it's the plain ol ALBLK, but man, this is a very nice knife! Weight, balance, the "thin" feel of the aluminum handles, and I do love the big recurves. Spent about 15 minutes with it and the Sharpmaker (not that it wasn't shaving sharp out of the box, I just wanted it sharper. I've been spoiled by the edge on the ENER-G), and I'm impressed...this a really nice knife! It's a bargain I tell ya, a bargain!

Other than the safety, the Bump is virtually the larger Mojito. Does it really make sense for us to mirror and produce the larger Mojito, when the Bump and all its variations are on the market already?

gee SPX, i didn't know you cared lol.

i am sooo freakin interested in this new MIM blade. good luck guys getting it ready for Blade 08!

Wouldn't that be a Bump?

I kinda let the Larger Mini Mojo thing go for a while but, yeah, it would be a Bump. Maybe you should have called the Mini Mojo the Baby Bump. All that being said, I don't know that the same safety would work all that well on a Bump. Once you scale everything up that safety becomes quite large and I kinda don't think it would have room to swing out far enough to unlock without hitting something.

Careful Coach^^^^^ you might not have that proto for Blade.
OL's sneaky....very very sneaky.

Notice how he says "good luck". ;)

maybe something in between a la mini cyclone size. bump is 3 5/8 while the mojito is 2 3/8. how about 3 or 3.25. i would keep the exact same look for the design, but maybe a sprint run to test the waters in SG2 or ZDP with Ti handle and a G10 insert with the Tip up option. priced street at around 100 would absolutely become my new EDC and i would be happy to trade down in size from my ZDP cyclone which has seen nothing but boxes every day since november. would be nice to rotate in another super slick little folder. i'd even offer as a QC tester for the prototypes :-D

Now that I've played with my Bump for a while, I can let the Mini Mojito on Steroids thing go...

i dunno, maybe if i had a slick bump like the aluminum in black red or raw i would possibly let this thing go. but i dunno, i might even be willing to commission ken to do a one off (would have to sell something like my car) but i think the design has merit, just like the shallot did for the leek, chive line, i think it could perhaps fill a nice gap between the mini mojito and the bump.....that being said, i would have to compare if someone wants to be charitable and lend me an aluminum bump for comparison :-D

Seriously, go for the ALBLK...I'm so impressed, I'm still playing with my Groo...er, Bump!

anybody you know selling one not on the bay? never really had a good experience there.

i saw that smokymountain used to have the black aluminum not sure if they still do.

Wouldn't that be a Bump?

As SPXTrader mentioned, it needs the safety on the flipper.
If that were to happen a full sized Mojito would be redundant, and the Bump would be even cooler than it already is.

(And a composite blade would kick it up another notch.)

i guess i never quite made my original intentions for the bigger mojito clear, im not thinking the knock ur socks off 151 mojito with a 4 inch blade (essentially a bump with delusions of safety locks) but rather a discrete double mojito with a smaller more sheeple and edc friendly blade size. that combined with the specs i was talking about earlier would seriously be my perfect EDC......oh yeah, and with a lanyard hole

I really love the Bump (and I'll continue to try and get every version you produce), but to be honest, the Mojito has a much sexier shape, flow, and proportions.

I have to concur with the other posters, I don't really want a Maxi Mojito (though I wouldn't say no to one), I want something in between the size of the Mini Mojito and the Spec Bump.
