Greetings everyone,

Here’s a knife I just finished. It’s stock removal 3/16 inch Starrett O-1 that I heat treated myself. The knife is about 10.5 inches in overall length, 1.75 inches at the widest point, and has a cutting edge about 5.5 inches long. The handle is stabilized Mimosa wood, from a tree that my father had. The whole knife was etched in vinegar before the handle scales were installed. I don’t really know what to call this style, so I’m referring to it as a “Mimosa Utility” knife at the moment. I hope you all like it.

The choice of the etched blade and the wood for the handle are really a fantastic combination... and by placing your maker's mark on the spine htere's no distraction at all away from the knife.

That's a fine looking knife. I like the color and the grain of the Mimosa. Well done on the blade!
 
Thanks guys! I intend to make a leather sheath for this knife. However, if my wife claims it for the kitchen, I won't bother with the sheath (but perhaps a wooden stand instead).
 
That is a great looking knife. It IS beautiful!! I also like the fact that your makers mark is on the spine also, as it does not detract from the blade.
 
I like this knife. It's 'plain and simple'. That said, good P&S is always a product of enduring logic and styling.

I'd not mind the makers mark on the blade. It's a deserving canvas.
