:DFolks I just have to say I that I have been taken off guard. I just received my first Busse blade. The BWM CF (from Longknife3) and mashed cat kydex showed up friday luckily on the same truck. Coming from a few big bowies and after reading reviews I was half tempted to go the battle mistress route instead of the bushwacker because of the "thinner" blade on the BWM. I laugh as I type this because I was growing a bit insecure with the thinner blade. Well when I unrolled the packaging and watched the big hunk of steel flop out onto my desk I said to myself, "you gotta be god damn kidding me". What a savage peice of steel. Just the depth of the blade and heft is impressive to say the least. It makes my CS Trail Master San Mai III feel like a steak knife and that is 1/4 inch thick. To all the people who feel they need a bigger NMFBM or FBM good on ya but I will be feeling no guilt or regret about this fantactic knife. I was batoning with it an hour later and its chopping ability obliterates my trail master IMO. I just figured id share my satisfaction with you all. This is a great forum.

Oh and my Trail Master is for sale now :D

good to hear, congrats on the new knife!! i also love my bw's.i think its the best all around mistress busse makes and the handle may be the most comfortable on any big busse.

Ha-ha, great story! Busse knives seem to have the uncanny ability to do that. Overshadow other knives, that is. . .:D;)

I have no other busse to compare it to but I am in love with the feel and balance of this big girl

Welcome to "Stage 1!" Have your Mrs. hide your wallet for you :p

Congrats on your score as well bro; excellent knife.

My wallett has been emptied into a small photography gig i have on the side. But the boss jacks and sar 8's look nice :)

Man this thing is scary sharp.

Welcome to the madness Bro and hold on for a great ride!!! Busse Combat blades are the best period...

I got the same impression upin unwrappin gmy first busse some months back, a FBMLE. It felt unreal. Overwhelming.

Congrats and welcome to the insanity. I see you scored a thin one. :D:thumbup:

I sold my San Mai III trailmaster after I got a FBMLE.

One of the things going for the TM was the overall lighter weight. Much lighter with the hidden tang, and krayton handle, but I really did not like the handle material.

The B11 kills the TM in every category except maybe outright stabbing, and it does not technically have a top guard. But since I don't do any knife fighting, that is just fine!

Welcome to the club. The BWM CF is a great sized knife, which chops awesome for it's size. It is also much more versatile at that thickness and length than the bigger mistresses.

But there is something to be said for raw chopping insanity (which is why I have the KZII). The B11 is my lighter option.

Enjoy it!

Welcome to the fun! I had the same impression when I got my first one. My TM sits in the bottom drawer now and never gets used.

Congrats on the score and welcome to the addiction. It's nice to hear about people's first experience with Busse, reminds us of our first time =)

Thanks guys. I had a little chop off this evening and the TM is super quick and bites very deep for a much ligher blade. Im actually thinking about keeping it. I know there are not many CS fans in the Busse section but the TM is a one of a kind blade IMO. I think I may put her away for a while till I can get her a nice sheath. bwm won the chop off

Funny story I was on a waiting list for a TS and some guy called this weekend to tell me they were back in stock. I told him I did not have available funds (because I had just purchased my first busse).

Congrats sinjans! THE BWM is a terrific knife, and the CF is a beauty. I always have to laugh at the need for thicker. What is thin to Busse is a whole lotta freakin' steel to most others. ThINFI kicks butt!

No turning back now. My condolences for your wallet...

I used to like Cold Steel, but then I found out about Busse and there is just no going back. I'm sure you will feel the same too... stick around and enjoy the ride!

Hey Brother, I'm glad to hear your're happy with the BWM and that she is getting a proper work out :cool: and I have to agree, the BWM is my favorite Busse bar none. I find it to be much more useful all around than the 1/4" beasts. For me it fits the role of "The one knife" if I had to grab & go.

I too dumped all my Trail Masters, even my Stag handled Carbon V ones and they were all really nice knives.
