I had a little money from extra hours over spring break so I picked up a BK5 (aka Chuck Noriss's toenail clippings) when I saw it on the exchange and it got here today! Sorry for the crappy cell phone pics. I'm too excited to look for the camera. :D This thing feels awesome in the hand, very balanced.

But that sheath...damn. Going to have to do something about that. Might get some liners too.

Hope you're proud, Clich. ;)

Nice score. I've thought about one of these many times.

I really want one, but I just get so torn when it comes time for another knife. Soon though.

Every Becker fan is just doing themselves a dis-service if you don't end up with a BK5 at some point.

Congrats on picking up a 5, it's what is on my list after the machax. It really is one fine looking knife!

Have you put it down yet?

Been on my desk next to me all afternoon. Can't wait until I can get out and use it!

I'm waiting for the new coatings before I get the 9. I gotta get a Machax too.

Congrats on the new blade!!

I finally got to handle both the BK-5 and the BK-11 over the weekend. I'll admit I've been super excited about getting the BK-9 for my next knife.

But honestly, when I handled that BK-5 I did kinda fall in love with it. It definately felt well balanced and seemed a bit longer than I thought it would be. Truthfully I haven't been crazy about the shape of the knife. It's growing on me though. It just seems like it would be a great "all arounder". Yep.. I need to get one too!!

the BK5 is one of the holy first three Beckers ever made. EVER - Machax, Campanion, and Magnum Camp - also the first collaboration too.

it's survived mostly unchanged, except for some nice updates, almost as if it skipped Camillus.

you all should have one. i've given out 4 so far :)

Nice choice!

Everyone knows by now this thing slices like a laser beam, but I cannot get over how deep it will bite when chopping. I had mine out in the yard with my BK9 and it was handling it's own, really. Not as good, but darn close on what I was doing. The BK5 is better at snap cutting smaller branches b/c the speed you get with such a light blade..... like a short machete.

For anyone on the fence, don't be. You don't see many (or any?) posts of people who don't like their 5. There are reasons for that.

As for sheath, a good budget choice imo is the Spec Ops basic sheath... got mine for $26. It's very lightweight and not bulky at all, good pairing for the 5. Kydex and leather you know about and are great choices, but this is another one.

Hmm, the spec ops seems like a good choice. I can't justify spending more on a sheath than the knife...yet.

Going to try to steal some stainless bolts from work tomorrow.

That looks really nice. I must admit that I have been eyeing one like that lately! Good score with the micarta!

For a long time I passed by the BK5 wondering who would buy that ugly thing? but guess who's waiting for one in the mail...me!

I'm happy to see this thread and pictures as there are not many threads on it. Thanks for posting!
