I sort of forgot about MM and Ted Frizzell, mostly because I don't hear too much about them anymore.

Has anyone bought anything recently? I need another 1095 knife like I need a hole in the head, but I may consider one if anyone has any good words about any of their recent offerings.

Bought about 2 years ago....
A lamb splitter that I need to re-handle. It's on my to do list.
Otherwise, I like it. It's a big slab.

I'd actually never heard of them before, just checked out the website though and now I'm drooling over the "assasin" they've got some really great looking blades. I like exotic and large style, anything not really normal. Their work has really caught my eye now, thanks for bringing this up or I might have never seen their work.

I love Ted Frizzell's work. I stayed too late on the fence years ago about a pair of absolutely beautiful bowies, a splitter one and a slicer one. Beauties... I went pussy and missed out. So, Mineral Mountain Hatchet Works still is on my radar. Just not for the "tactical" stuff.

Have several of Ted's blades but nothing I would call recent. Most are likely 5yrs old or older. I have been happy with all of them though. Simple but work as they should.

You may want to check out Zombie Tools, as well. :)
Love zombie tools, I actually met the guys in 2008 or so at an event in Spokane Washington, it was before they got really known. They're stuff is great though, I've wanted a karambit of theirs for a while, none of it really shows up on secondary market though

I’ve been on the fence about one of these. It’s between the 10” deep woods Bowie and the 10” survival Bowie. I can only have one.

While I don't have either of those models. I just happened to come across a couple knives that I honestly forgot I had from MM. I just posted this thread a couple days ago about them....

Excellent value for the money. I am still surprised that MM flies under the radar with very little publicity or mention on this forum.

These guys are perfectly happy with just being local legends, and the stuff people whisper about. Ted, and his brother Barry, were a hoot at the gun shows in Tulsa in the 90s, before they got asked to leave, and not come back, for being too much for the more normal table-renters to handle. A guy who went by Lyzard was grinding for Ted, and also attending the shows. I bought a fighting axe, ground by Lyzard, in 3/8" 5160, with walnut handle scales, the first time I met them. A one-of-a-kind. I only saw Lyzard a couple of more times, but the story of why is best left for another time. The axe, on the other hand, has been indestructible for about 30 years now.....
