Mineral Mountain knives

Anyone have any experience with any of their bowies? I have been lusting after one for a while, and was wondering how they cut and how they hold up to hard use.

Jeez Josh, this is a tough one, since I'm Mineral Mountain's dealer. But the reason I started was because I think Ted's knives and swords are the best out there for the money. Before I started up the web site, I owned a sword (Shasqua) and a "tactical" knife by him. I was amazed by the quality to price ratio and kept bugging him to put up a web site so that his stuff could get discovered by other net denizens like myself. Eventually we worked out a deal, and bada-bing... I'm selling knives.

Anyway, I now own a good amount of Mineral Mountain knives. I'm especially fond of my White River Bowie, which I use when I go camping and backpacking. I use it for all kind of tasks: everything from cutting up firewood to pounding in tent stakes to cutting up food. These blades hold up to hard use and stay looking good.

Generally his stuff comes with a parkerized finish. Some complain these kind of finishes will scuff after a long time of being drawn in and out of the Kydex™ sheaths, but it's never been a problem for me (I'm not sure if Ted's techinique is different from other makers). If they DO scuff, Ted will re-finish it for the life of the product (forever), although he tells me that he's never really had any complaints. OR you can get them in bead-blast finish as well.

The guarantee on his knives are awesome- he will sharpen, refinish or "make good" anything you have a problem with. Period.

Pick out something you think you'll like and if you aren't 100% satisfied, send it back for a full refund. I don't think you'll be let down though.

If you have any questions or thoughts, call or email me and I'll do my best to help.

You wont regret it. I've posted my experiences with ted's products earlier in the year. You can search for it in the latest archive. You will not be disappointed.

I have the large camp knife, and love it. It's one sturdy piece of steel! I'm planning on getting a Survival Bowie very soon too. I ordered the camp knife about 5 years ago, and talked to Ted on the phone a few times. He's a real nice guy, with tough knives at a great price. What could be better?
