That is the right stuff.

WD-40 contains mineral oil + mineral spirits (as a solvent). The latter evaporates, leaving the mineral oil as a light lubricant. Not perfect for all applications, but I like it.

Johnsons baby oil is 100% mineral oil plus fragrance.

The good thing about the Walgreens' stuff is that it is food-safe/edible, whereas the others are not.

On knives that do not come into contact with food, Sentry Solutions Tuf-Glide works well for me.

On food knives, mineral oil is the way to go, or Vaseline (so I've heard anyway).

I believe the baby oil is food-safe as well, it just tastes like, well, baby. You wouldn't put anything on a baby's skin that couldn't go in its mouth, since that's probably where it'll end up anyways.

Do you put it on then wipe it off? It just like beads on the blade. Can you explain.

Find yourself some syringes and draw up a few cc's of mineral oil. Then just place a few drops in the pivots of your blades and work them open and closed a few times.

That's all I do.
