Well, I ditched the Ballistol (still great for guns) for some of the stuff that Sigs come with. I only have a very small amount of that, so I decided to try mineral oil. I expect my Sebenza to produce a bowel movement in 6-8 hours.

When that Sebenza BM occurs I hope it comes out as CRK Florinated Grease so you have some of that to use. Your Sebbie will thank you for it. ;)

Mineral oil doesnt really seem like it would stay in place well enough to do much good for a sebenza pivot. I've tried clp on mine a couple times and don't like the way it feels at all. More viscous material like grease seem to make it much more smooth

I was worried about the viscosity as well, however, it is thicker than I thought it would be. I may have to clean it more often than the grease user, but that's fine with me.

I'm not really searching. Mineral oil is extremely cheap and it works. Good enough for me.

Spend $400-500 on a knife and worry about the cost of lube? If we're going to disregard the manufacturer's recommendations to that extent, why not just dunk the knife in kero, dry with a shop cloth and be done?

That's just stupid. It's lube, for goodness sake, not quantum physics. If it works for me, it works for me. I was just letting people know that it works fine. Big deal.

You might think twice before labeling things "stupid." ;)

Guy's just trying to help you. No reason to be spreading animosity around here. If you cant handle public opinion I suggest you think harder about what you post.

I'll be in my respective corner.
Folks are just trying to be helpful my friend; we can agree to disagree and even share differences of opinions, we'd just prefer to do so in a hospital manner. Now, put the mineral oil back on the nightstand and get back in here.:) The Dealer I purchased my 2 CRK's from, included a small sample of the flourinated grease, shoot me an email with your address and I'll mail you one.

Are you being serious?

Yes sir, he is indeed serious, and I am not a bit surprised. We have all shared a lot of fun around here together and you are a welcome part of that. What a great way to get to try some of the Florinated Grease for yourself, and getting it from a Friend is an extra bonus. :)

Generosity doesn't surprise me. People who are able to help other people on these forums do so everyday and don't normally ask for much praise either. A little grease goes A LONG way. Use it sparingly.
