i love the scout concept (very pleased with my Savage scout), and since i have two Mini14s i figured id give it a try.
after reading an article written up by M. Ayoob on the Ruger Scout he spoke highly of TRS-25 he mounted on the Ruger Scout so i ordered that as well.
heres what ive ordered, and i think i have all i need.

from Amega ....
Mini - Scout - Mount III
Amega picatinny rail that attaches on either side of the scout mount for lights/lasers

a Vltor light mount for Surefire lights
a Malkoff LED drop in upgrade for an older incandescant 9P ive had for years
and a Bushnell TRS-25 red dot

should be a quick "build" (fingers crossed) and my Mini will then be the ultimate "bump in the night" gun.

i'll get pics up when the parts start showing up and a "before and after" as well

I built my Mini 14 Scout when I first read Jeff Cooper's article back in the 80's... used a mount from Ranch Products (Malinta, Ohio) that replaced the top of the gas block, and 2 1/2 power Redfield scope

Woody... you might need a riser block to get the TRS25 to the correct height... I did on my .22lr AR conversion upper
