I recently picked up a miniature Buckmaster 184. Overall length of this little beauty is about 5". It is a very accurately scaled reproduction. It is marked "Wilson" on the right ricasso. I've tried to find information on it on the web but so far haven't had any luck. Anyone out there have any information they'd be willing to share?

Humm... well if it has Wilson on it, it CAN NOT be a Buckmaster 184 can it?
It can only at best be a knockoff copy and at worse a patent / copyright infringement and theft of intellectual property… by the way is it China / Twain/ Japan on the other side?
To be clear how I feel about the USA issue – if the 184 had Any thing other then ‘USA’ on it - to bad buck what did you expect… but with USA on the 184; and if this 'thing' has one of the above 3 on it - well ...
call the cop’s , FTC, customs, and get a lawyer, And you get a slap on the wrist for playing with toy’s that are not yours :grumpy: ! and yes i would like to know what it has on the other side!
hummm...now if 'it' has USA it is a diffrent story..
btw ;) : it is cute and something buck should consiter making here!

Ah  ... yes but then i would not have had the most excleant oppertuinty to rant that you provided me. For that i slaute and thank you sir! ;)
ugh... what is on the other side ?

Back from the dead!

I'd like to know more, too. I have one in the yellow Buck box, with papers. The box is labeled on the end, '184 MC CAT. 1460'. About 4.8" OAL, blade length 2.9". Marked 'Wilson' on the ricasso. Black leather sheath. Evidently Buck had them made up, but I don't know why or how many. I got it as a gift for my father about 20 years ago or so (I got it from a local dealer who sold LOTS of Buck knives during the oil boom back then, so it may have been a dealer thing). He recently returned it to me, along with a bunch of other stuff.

I found 1 other on the net. It sold for $795! Guess I'll wait for the price to go up.

I have a Mini-184... Here's a Quote: From Joe Houser about the Mini 184...

Joe Houser
Welcome to the forums Itstooearly!! That is a very nice collection for sure. That mini Buckmaster is stamped, if I remember right, with the word WILSON. Buck did not actually make it but we did sell it.

Here's some pics of mine... It's one sweet little 184... ITE ...

Dave, Buck did sell them... ITE ...

I've got pix, but I can't post 'em. I could email 'em to ya if you'll PM your address to me. My sheath didn't come with a snap strap like the above pix.

Buck sold 200 of them all in 1987. You can see details in my BuckMaster book pages 120 and 121. The BUCK Factory made nothing on this knife however they did sell them...

The tooling was probably United Cutlery a few years after the Buck version was sold with Wilson stamped on it they released there own version as "the little forest ranger"
