Just rec. this in the mail today. Thought I would compare it to the 14's I have. 7b is flawless in its build quality. Very nicely done for an 04 knife. Grinds perfect etc. etc. Had to take it apart and lube it and clean it though. Interesting note on the grease used by EKI it seems like it gets hard kind of. Almost gritty it seems but not quite. Still worked alright though.
As for the comparison trust me on this. There really isn't any. The 7 is a hair longer in blade length like 2.9" compared to 2.7" so it isn't that much really. What shines is how big the 14 looks with the handles and the general shape of the blade itself. That and top to bottom width is almost 25% wider. The 14 wins hands down in the cutting dept and handle ergo's dept. Not that the 7 is any slouch at all just seems like more leverage to generate a cut with the 14 that and the blade although shorter is bigger. Anyways thats it. keepem sharp
