Hello Emerson lovers! I just received this from knifecenter. This is my first Emerson and initial inspection is very positive!! Funny though it smells like an electrical fire. Is that a super secret bonus? haha Hope you like the pics, the new finish on these is awesome.

The electrical fire smell is from the grinding and shaping process of the G-10. The smell adds character!

They're out. I got to handle a stone washed combo edge this past weekend. It was damn tempting.

Yep, its a cool little knife, I had a heck of a time getting it sharp.
Finally I used a fine sand paper and x fine..now she's sharp!

How was the edge on yours out of the box? It seems like the few recently made Emersons I've handled came very sharp.

This was the first Emerson out of 5, that I received,that was not very sharp out of the box. Not sure whether it was the blade size or..It was sharpened Friday afternoon just before beer time It wouldn't slice paper ..mostly tear it.
Oh well stuff happens, no reason to not likes my Emersons
