I was wondering if anyone could tell me if the liner material on the mini-AFCK is Ti, or some steel?

Thanks,
Mitch

Hello,

I own a small-AFCK ( 2/3 is NOT mini ).
On their website, they only specify the big AFCK has Ti liners. So I asked what the liners were on the small one, since they don't look like ti, and Les des Assis replied that it was 410 steel, like all non-ti-benchmade-liners.

It's titanium according to the official BM 2000 catalog. Only in the model 350 and the Axis models are the liners made of 410 steel.

I have a mini-afck with m-2 steel. I took the knife apart to clean and both liners had rust on them. One things for sure, it was'nt titanium. I was a little disappointed. Still a great little knife.

The catlog is wrong. The Mini-AFCK uses 410 liners. The first few hundred made used Ti.

What's all this about Ti liners wearing out?

Do they just wear more than steel or is there really something to this Ti liners wearing thing?

Ti liner vs SS liner wear. One answer, it depends. If made right the ti will last longer. In your case I think you're better off with the SS liner.

An easy answer is to take a magnet and see if the liners are magnetic or not. That should confirm if the liners are steel or not.

heheh, I for one am sick and tired of liners that wear too fast. I was (and maybe still am) a big fan of the liner lock for its simplicity and ease of use. But yah know what??? THE SILLY THINGS KEEP WEARING OUT ON ME!!!!

Now I have a mini socom, and I havent worn it out yet. However, the lock galls on the tang..... Maybe It'll break in, Right now, I only have plans to purchase two other liner locks.... One of which is a MT LCC DA. Hopefully it'll be flawless and I wont have to bother the poor people in MIRC Chat anymore
