I just got a mini AFCK yesterday. I purchased it for what I feel was a fair price on eBay. I am trying to get current opionions on this knife in today's current market of knives. All the posts that I have read are around ten years old and many are on the full size AFCK not the mini. I really like this knife for EDC. It has a satin, partially serrated ATS-34 blade and is in pretty good shape. The serrations, although not very sharp are not deformed. The only draw back is that the left side of the knife is missing the Balisong Butterfly emblem. Anyone with any opinions on this knife?

I carried one for many years and I still think it is a good size for EDC. I carry knives of that size or slightly larger these days, but for people that don't want to carry a large knife this is a slim and light with a good sized blade.
(I have the full sized one too but I think it is borderline too large for me for EDC.)

The 812 is a terrific EDC knife. I bought mine used, in ATS-34 and PE satin blade. Used it for a few years and finally sent it up to Benchmade for a tuneup. Well, after replacing the original worn scales with the last pair of new ones found in a box somewhere, and replacing the clip, screws and washers, when all I wanted was sharpening...the only item they couldn't replace was the medallion on one side, they were out of those.
Even without, these are keepers and very useful. While Benchmade won't sharpen the serrated part on yours, that's easy to fix with a diamond rat tail. Partially serrated models are worth less than plain edged versions, but considering the relative scarcity the 812 is becoming hard to find.
