Received my Mini Air Max yesterday, can’t wait to try it out this weekend. Couple pics compared to the Fell Beast. Definitely a lot lighter

Really wanting to see peoples’ results with the 20” Air Max though :D

I had a giant box came in, for a second I thought it was empty because it’s so big and practically weightless, but it rattled, so I opened it up, and behold! It was my TSM Air MAX! So incredibly light and fast!!

Had some brush to slay today…

She bites deep for such a light blade!!!

Probably not designed to chop down super hard plum tree branches, but she didn’t complain once 🤣 Nice clean cuts!

Awesome work! I'm surprised it got through that hard plumb.

I'm finishing the rest of these now and will have them up for sale this week if anyone wants one before they are gone. Only making 6 more of the Air MAX.

Yeah, I’m surprised how well it chops considering it’s lighter than air. The plum tree branches are probably more a job for the Tyrant Bowie haha, maybe just need a good whack or two. It’s so tough that some hits just glanced off the branches and made a nice ringing sound. I had to hold the smaller branches down or stabilize them against a big branch to chop them, otherwise they just bounce away and dissipate the force of my blade swing. I think with the force multiplying weight of the Tyrant Bowie, those branches probably won’t stand a chance.

The TGM Air MAX does sail through typical light vegetation extremely well though, I can see it working great clearing jungle brushes as it was designed for. It was nutty of me pushing the limit chopping something dense and hard 🤣 Though it did performed very well, with zero edge damage afterwards.

With Hunter not making any more of the Air MAX in the future, I’d recommend jumping on these before they’re sold out. It’s a fun blade, and getting to use it as a short sword is a nice bonus!

Awesome feedback! I've noticed there's a limit to chopping ability with thin blades. At a certain point, they just bounce off hardwoods. I think they act like a big spring and absorb the shock instead of transferring the energy into the wood. Same thing happens with the Fell Beast. I tried to take down a full grown osage orange once that kept giving our tractor flat tires and the Fell Beast just kind of bounced off it.

On that note, I took the Tyrant Bowie out and found the hardest, driest downed tree on our farm and it blasted through it like an axe. The Tyrant Bowie is in a league of its own. You can use it for things you'd typically need a hatchet or an axe for.

Dudes, what are you doing to me...! I still have to wait until my transport company brings me the Tyrant...!

In general, it’s cool to see that the blade literally helps with housework!

Yes honey,I need this tyrant bowie with gold ceracote and carbon handles to cut down the trees and bushes that have grown on our site! 🫡 That's what I said!:rolleyes::rolleyes:
Yes, if you’ve gotta do it, might as well do it in style!!

Got to try out the Mini Air Max today and it’s definitely a pretty good slicer, was going though 1”-1.5” various tree branches and vines with ease

Awesome action pics! I'm working hard to keep this model around. I still have another sheet and a half of the thin Z Tuff so I can make more, but after that I'll be out of this custom rolled steel and with Tarriffs raising prices drastically, the MINI AIR will probably be done.

BUT I think this model would be a good platform for Pop's Pro Cut. Since I got back into knifemaking I've been laying in bed at night trying to come up with a way to make an affordable hard use machete for the masses. I hate how expensive everything has gotten. The Fell Beast is too expensive and there is no where to cut costs, but I think I could make these in Pop's pro Cut for around $265 if things work out.... Skipping the Z tuff and ultra costly surface grinding would cut the price drastically. Heat treat would be cheaper and the Pro cut shouldn't warp so I wouldn't have to spend so much time straightening these....

Who wants to see the TGM MINI .110 Pop's Pro Cut?

I know I do!

Cool idea. I would probably like to see them.
Recently, I said that Fell Beast was almost not mine, because it was a machete,I didn't have a machete before and I didn't want to! And! somehow it turned out that he couldn’t let me go, and I took it. 😁
(To be honest, I had some kind of machete from a garden store, which broke after a couple of blows, and for some reason I generally came to the conclusion that a machete is not something reliable)
Now I'm in some kind of similar stage with AIRMAX.
Sooner or later I will let him into my brain :)
By the way, I like this idea. I support it!
Promise that you won’t be angry, but you know, I’d like to see something like an axe made by you.
I saw, or maybe I’m wrong, that you did them a long time ago.
Ahahaha, don’t be mad at me because I may have given you another thought that you’ll think about before going to bed. 🫣
(I think I saw your axes when I was studying the forum and looking at old posts.)

Honestly, I think this would be a good move. While I absolutely love my TGM in Z, I believe the price tag scares away a lot of potential buyers. I totally understand the price point due to the quality of steel and the amount of effort it takes to turn out a quality product, but the average user of the machete probably doesn't really need one in Z or 3V. Using a less expensive steel to make a quality product while lowering the price point could allow some of the folks with smaller blade budgets to enjoy your work.

Thats the goal! I want to be able to deliver a low cost blade to allow people to see what my knives are all about. Using Pop's Procut, eliminating surface grinding, straightening, and reducing HT costs (much more simple HT than Z Tuff, no big stress relief cycle, no long ramp ups, no warpage to correct), I can eliminate about $80 in production cost per blade and pass that savings on to the customer.

I'm going to work hard to make more affordable base model versions of the Kukri and Liberator Bolo as well.

Ok,wen we have super premium airmax blade-shoes? 😅😂

Don’t need it but definitely would buy a Kukri to use 🤣

Used the Mini Air more this past weekend and when I wasn’t getting a face full of gnats…..it was awesome. The Fell Beast still makes me smile using it but the thinner profile of the Airs make them way cleaner brush cutters…..and more manageable on the follow through than be Beast. Most green/alive trees and weeds it would cut like butter
