The other day, I dissasembled my mini autoclip for its regular lint removal and oiling. I just got around to the reassembly today and I can't remeber for the life of me how to put the spring back in. Can anyone give me a hand?

Looks like mine is "bend pointing up" towards "lock back", with the "longer part" of spring inserted into knife body, "shorter part" of spring fits against inside of "lock back" .

If I understood you correctly.........:D

I want to thank you for answering him, Robbie. :)

Since I don't have an Autoclip (and never had an Autoclip) I wasn't going to post just to say that.

Is it possible for someone with an Autoclip to take pictures?

Hopefully, Chris@SOG will have a few tips.

I'm sure somewhere in the company there has to be a "how to" instruction manual for the warranty department.

I'm pretty sure I see how, theoretically, it should go back in. The spring is just to long to fit back in. Is the locking mechanism riveted into the handle or is there a way to remove it?

Judging from the pictures online it is.

If you didn't take out the locking mechanism before, why start a second problem trying to take it now?

The people who could best answer your question are the SOG warranty staff.

I don't know if you live in the US or not. If not, an international phone call or mailing the knife to SOG may cost too much.

If this is true, explain your situation to SOG in an e-mail. They might be able to help you put the knife back together with some step by step photos.

The lock is riveted in.

Try this, take the blade and pivot pin out, swing lock bar all the way "up" and down towards where pivot pin was and beyond. This should give you a clear shot to insert spring into hole in body of knife.

Insert long end of spring into hole, with the "1/2 inch bend" in spring pointing "upwards" towards back of knife. Then pivot lock all the way back into position and push to mash spring down so you can insert blade and pivot pin.

You should be good to go.........:D
