I love my mini-afck. Now Benchmade has come out with the big Axis lock version...in D2 no less. Are they planning on making a mini version?

Thanks,
Mitch

Hey Mitch-

Now there's great question. I'm totally with you on this one.

That would be awesome, and even better if Benchmade could be convinced to leave the coating off the D2. I would SO much rather have a satin finish even though Benchmade thinks otherwise.

Corrosion, smorrosion. Make mine satin and I promise to wipe the blade down...

I imagine, that with good sales of the Axis AFCK, a mini will be made.

As with you, Firebat, I am looking for another finish. I can understand if they want to coat it, but why not Boron Carbide?

Agreed. I am not aware of the economics of the Boron Carbide coating versus Black Ti (or whatever Benchmade uses), but I will never purchase a Black Ti or Teflon coated knife again now that BC is available.

It would be great to see a "mini". Also agree that the Boron Carbide coating seems to make alot more sense if a coating has to be applied.

As far as I know, BC coating has to be farmed out to one company that has rights on the process of coating with BC. So this is probably an economic issue.

I have to agree with you guys about the Mini. I have two of them, one in ATS34 and the other in M2. I hope they do come out with one in D2 and don't coat it with the black. I took that off my one in M2.
