mini-barrage vertical blade play

I recently purchased a mini-barrage. i noticed a tiny bit of vertical play on the blade, nothing major but if i wiggle the blade up and down i can feel a hair of movement. I would exchange it where i bought it but i got it while i was traveling and didn't notice the play while i was there.

i don't do anything heavy with my knives so is it worth sending it back to benchmade for service?
 
Have you tried adjusting the pivot screw? If it tightens up after adjustment then try adding some lock tite to keep it in place.. I would advise trying that back before shipping it off.. Regardless of the outcome benchmade will make it right just give them a chance there customer service is stellar..
 
Ya before you send it back take of the scale opposite the clip side and tighten up the pivot underneath. When it comes to axis locks the play is usually just horizontal play that feels vertical. The axis lock self adjusts for vertical play but if after you try that it still does it then yes send it back. Also, make sure you put a drop of blue loctite on the pivot screw because mine usually back out a little bit over time.
 
it's definitely feels like vertical play. if i push the axis lock forward a bit the play stops. i will try the pivot screw and i will send it to benchmade this week if that doesn't work.
