Mini Belt Sander!?

I would Kill for one of those right now, but i think it would wear the little belts out pretty fast.

I would not use that. Unless you set it in a vice there's no way you could hold that microsander steady enough to get quality results. I've got a 1" belt sander from HF. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/Displayitem.taf?itemnumber=2485 I've had it 1+ years and it's still holding up fine. I bought it to sharpen everything I could with it. It works fine but I must admit I went to the Edgepro and haven't looked back. Still, if you want to get a belt sander then the 1" is fine.

I have the Harbor Freight 1" belt sander works great for my uses but I only sharpen not a knifemaker here. I have all types of belts for it but mostly keep a leather Surgi Sharp with green compound on it. I think its great and I can get an awesome edge with it.
