Mini Buck/Strider pivot tension

Hi,
I have both spear and tanto point. I have to tightened the pivot screw after every 3 to 4 times opening and closing it. I have to tightened the pivot screw otherwise it will be considered gravity knives. Any advise on this? I love my mini Buck/Strider.

mabey you should get some loctite thredd locker. i know buck uses it on there folders pivot pins( as do most ). but if you have had the two folders for a while the origonal application might have worn off. and im not sure how long buck has been using the thredd locker on there folding knives. so if the knives are old enuff thay might not have ever been thredd locked. if you want to know you can take out the pivot pins and look at the thredds look for some blue residu. if you dont see any you should get some it will keep the pins tight. just go to any hard wear store and ask for loctite blue(medium strength) thay should know what it is. when you get it shake it well and use just a drop on the thredds (carefull its a very thin liquid and it will come out of the tube quikly) then tighten the pins down and let it dry. then adjust pins to your liking.

Sounds like your ball detent is worn off too, should go back to Buck for a going over.

If you think the detent may be worn off, you definetely should send them in. If not, i would just apply the loc tite like Justin advised.
