Just took this little knife in on a trade with an awesome brother from this forum.

Lows:

-Needs ambi placement for clip, really, you are going to make this a great edc and not lefty friendly, next time...

-Literally that is it. Wait for the highs....

Highs:

-Sharp, really really sharp, if I were to do an amateur C section on my wife this is the first knife I would go for.

-VG10 great steel, perfect for this application, would love to see a spring in M4, ZDP 189 or XHP this design really lends itself well to getting sharp enough to cut through the time space continuum.

-Ergos, really, this knife is light, and begs to be carried daily, in suit pockets, fisherman vests and back pockets of anyone that may need to open anything.

-Weight, light, pragmatically so, you can keep this in the pocket with loose change or on the clip to rise above it all. Simply put, excellent in this respect.

-Ambi friendly, not ambi perfect.

-Clip is usual Spydie perfection, I would bump this higher if it did not have the black finish. Reminds me of the kids that put the shaded lenses on BMW M3's, some like it I don't.

-The best is last....

Wharncliff blade, thank you, absolute scalpel sharp, razor like perfection, from opening Auntie Ne Ne's Turkey Day Card to slicing through the Salami on me tacticool sammich, this blade does it for me.

Observations:

-This knife is NOT a tacticool knife, if you like Striders, this isn't your knife. But if you are looking for a knife that does the things 99% of us do daily this is your new girlfriend.

Thanks for reading.

hey zeke,
i've had my cento 4 for a couple months now, and it's one of my favorite light duty folders. the warnie blade is a great user. just as you stated, almost everything about this knife is spot on.
the clip placement doesn't bother me, as i'm a righty, but i wish there was a lanyard hole.
btw, you could always strip or sand off the black coating on the clip.
i've stripped all my black clips, going with the beadblasted finish underneath on almost all my spydies.
later,
don

I'm so relieved that you like it.

I like it enough to have spares. However, I really want a screwed construction wharncliff spyderco.

When I first read the title, I read it like, "Mini-Centofante-4??? review". That would be an awesome knife :D

Good review, and I agree with everything. The c4 is a nice knife. My only "con" is the blade could be longer and still fit in the handle. I noticed in a recent sales thread from Link2Derek that the Vesuvius has the same blade in a shorter handle, which I really like (too bad there isn't a wharncliffe Vesuvius--one day I may pick one up and try a blade swap)
This is his picture from that thread:

Still, since it's so light weight like you said, the excess handle isn't really an issue, just something I'd rather have changed.

I keep mine in the kitchen. That 2mm whancliffe blade is indeed awesome for cutting up food.

Me too! I wish they hadn't discontinued the Atlantic Salt right when they switched all the H1 folders to screwed construction. I plan to call them and order a pivot screw for a Pacific Salt and try putting that in one of my Atlantic Salts.

Where did you find a Centofante 4?

Traded for it my friend, it literally came to me without my knowledge, as the trade was my "XXX Brand, XXX Model Knife for a Mystery Basket from you." Deal.

Needless to say as one of the mysteries in the box for me was a Centofante.

I could not be happier.

:pAm I dumb, probably, do I enjoy a good knife, hell yes, as much as anyone on this forum.:thumbup::thumbup:
