mini champ with led

I've really been considering buying a midnite minichamp as I think it would fit all my daily needs.The only concern I have is the led light.
Is it easily engaged in the pocket? thus running the battery down without me knowing it? Would I be better off with the regular mini champ and just carry a small flashlight? I like the idea of having the light in the knife everything in one neat package. Any comments would be appreciated.Thanks

I have a Streamlight Nano clipped on a Minichamp and have been found it to be a good combo. The Nano weighs next to nothing, very small, and is quite bright for its size. I wouldn't want it for a primary flashlight, but as a "quicky" light its great.

The MiniChamp now comes with a much brighter white LED. The light does not easily come on in a pocket.

Thank you! That sounds even better w/ a white light and knowing it won't come on easily in the pocket.Now I definetly want one!

I would opt for a minichamp with the original red light and a small flashlight. Although for many purposes, brighter is better, the less intense red color light has no effect on night vision and is illumination enough for most small flashlight uses. Paired with something like a Fenix E01 or a micro light, the combo provides a lot of versatility.
