I was at TREXPO in VA this past week. I spoke with Derek and he told me that the mini C's are in production right now. He said they should begin to ship very soon. Just wanted to let all the suspects know.

LLF: Thanks for the timely update!

John Hollinger:

We're all waiting as patiently as possible. "Shhhhh" yourself, I want a Mini-C like, yesterday ! :p

:D

Hey, we may even get them in time for the Knife Course in October . . . . . PLEASE !

All I can tell ya is that they are working on them currently. I know that they have to have them coated and with the Black-T, that requires a bit of time in travel and getting the process done.

(Although . . . I'd be willing to take mine uncoated) :D

Soooooon, very soon. :D

Stupid question, will the blades be offered in both plain and combo edges? If so will they both be availlable from the start?

If not, I will not fret about it as the funds are not available yet anyway. <sigh>

I don't have solid info on the PE vs. 50/50 issue. I can only say that if EKI holds true to form, there will be PE models, but the majority will likely be 50/50 serrated. Pure speculation on my part.

Thanks John. I am partial to plain edges, and I feel the recurve edge of the commander series really doesn't benifit from serrations, at least not as much as a straight edged blade would, say like the CQC-7. I also just like the looks of a plain edge better. YMMV
