I have an Emerson mini commander would anyone know how I could switch the clip to the other side. There are no holes and my local knife shop wouldn't touch it. Should I just take it to a machine shop? Can you wave the knife left handed if clip is on the wrong side?

Thank you

You'd have to tap the handle for new screw holes. But to answer your question about waving it "wrong-handed" yes you can. It waves out in reverse grip.

That's the only way to go IMHO. All my right pocket worthy manual (except for a Reese Proto) folders are waved and set up with a left hand clip.

From what I've read Emerson will do it for a small fee. I'd give them a call, as otherwise you'll loose your warranty

Any competent gunsmith/machinist can do this.

I do know how... Just don't have the right tools for the job. When I did my Skirmish up, I used a Dremel (30,000 rpm fixed speed and NiCd 2 speed cordless) to do all my work. Drilling through the Ti was a bitch and the steel pocket clip was even worse. I couldn't find a 2-56 tap, so I went with 4-40. It literally took a week to drill the new holes.

LOL :D

Yup, a drill press is pretty much a must have for stuff like that. Some carbide bits or those swanky "fire coated" drill bits are handy to have as well.
