Just purchased one from Emerson's website! Unfortunately these do not have the wave, but a mini CQC 7-A.....C'MON!! Wave or no wave, I'm getting one.

I'll post some feedback once I receive the knife. You might want to pick one up before they sell-out!!

I went with black.....I had a CQC-7V at one point, and while the tan G-10 was nice, I prefer black on my Emerson's (except for the jungle series.....I think the green G-10 is sweet!!)

Limited run guys......not sure how many Mr. Emerson will be making!

FYI...I'll be posting my lightly-used CQC-10 for sale if anyone is interested. I can't wait to see if I like the mini CQC 7A better than my mini A-100!

My tan Mini 7 came today. This one has the stand offs and I noticed the jimping is just in the liners and the blade ramp, not in the G10. And it's finer than the older more coarse type I'm used to. But I have not bought any other 2013 production knives so perhaps that's the way they are now. The jimping on the back of the blade is more coarse though, like on my Mini A100.

Fit & finish, blade centering, all that, is top notch. May need a little 1000 grit paper on the G10, it's pretty sticky.

Also, I don't see a serial number on this knife. Did EKI stop serial numbering? There isn't one written on the box like usual either.

I think this is a nice knife. I'd like a wave option, more so cause I like it as a larger thumb ramp. In practicality, there really isn't that much difference between this guy and the Mini A100. The A100 has a slightly longer blade, the 7 a slightly longer grip. So they pretty much balance each other out. I will be carrying it for sure though! The tan G10 is a fairly light shade. OD green would be awesome.

If you're a Mini A100 fan - you'd like this knife just fine. If you do not care for the Mini A100, then you may not care for this model either. Try to handle one first if you can.

Thanks for the pics Riverwarrior....awesome knife you have there! Can't wait to get mine and I'm anxious to see if I like it better than the Mini A-100.

I'm really digging mine! Looks great, feels good, centered, solid, n smooth.

Here's a pic of it next to some Emerson brethren - cqc7v and mini 7a, no wave from '01

Not a big fan of "pimping" my knives but I really like the satin screws, clip, pivot screw, n bolt I put on my 7V and I think the mini 7A is begging for the same.

Also it struck me how much thicker the new tan 7A is than the older one. Doesn't bother me necessarily but definitely stands out.

I have two 2013 production Emerson's and they both have serial numbers, but they're not written on the box. Weird! I think that was an older practice, I'll see if the 2010 Roadhouse I have incoming has it written on there. Also, interesting what you say about the coarseness of the G10. The 2012 and 2013 models that I have received all have the extremely coarse G10.

Just out of curiosity - I emailed EKI and asked about the lack of serial number and they replied simply, stating that not all knives receive a serial number. So I guess that's it. :)

Received my mini 7A today and man is this knife sweeeettt! I have to say this is probably my favorite knife for EDC that Emerson has made so far. I like it more than the mini A-100 and will try to get some comparison pics up soon. The stand-offs put this knife over the top!

I can't find it on their website. Can somebody please give me a link?

Thought I'd post some knife porn.....so as promised here are some pics of my Mini CQC-7A just received from EKI:

Compared to Mini A-100:

And next to my Journeyman:

This is really a perfect knife for EDC and will be in my pocket as my work knife. I have accumulated too many Emerson's lately and I will only be keeping one larger model to carry for SD. So keep your eyes open on the forum for an upcoming sale!
