I am new to bladeforums and I am considering purchasing one of the new mini cqc-7B's. I was wondering if anyone could provide the overall pro's and con's of the knife as well as recommend whether to get partially serrated or regular blade. Also teflon (black) blade coating or the standard steel? Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated.

Welcome! YOU, will have to decide on what you like. Do you understand the chisel grind? Most, will go with the standard CQC-7 because it's not that much bigger than the mini. Try to handle both knives. You are choosing a great knife. Research and take your time.

The mini7s are good wee knives, The regular 7 is a shade over 3" (3.3 i think) and the mini is a shade under 3". The sub 3" blade was done to combat legal requirments regarding blade length.
If you can carry a knife with a blade over 3", as Lycosa sais id probably go for the regular, if you cant legaly carry that, go for the mini7.

As to blade finish, both the black and the silver are coatings, the satin is not bare metal. The satin finish is my personal choice where possible, the black is a bit oober tactical for me !.
I probably wouldnt bother with serations unless you will actually NEED them, they just get in the way if you dont.

Either way, you will end up with a sweet knife, just go for what you like and will use and you cant really go wrong

welcome to the forums as well :)
