Mini Crooked River or Super Freek?

I'm getting back into Benchmades after a hiatus. Previous BM was a North Fork. I think I like the carbon fiber mini freek as a smaller EDC, but was considering a 2nd for when I want something larger, either the mini crooked river (custom black G10) or the Super Freek. I just do general EDC tasks plus occasional use when working on renovation etc. Any thoughts between the 2? I also like the 484-1 Nakamura, which does fit my medium sized hands. Thanks!

I have owned mini-crooked river and also 484-1 among many other BMs for EDC. I traded/sold them both away after I went through a titanium phase.
Recently TRMs (atom and neutron) have been my go to edc. I recently got a 940BK-2003 and really like that one for edc, and plan to get a 940-1 and a mini-crooked river (MRC) for rotation. The Nakamura was a little to small for my hands and felt a bit cramped. The MCR was much better and I miss it enough to want another one. While I have held a super freek....I have never owned one and can't provide much input.

Thank you! How do you like the 940bk 2003? I can actually get one but wasn't sure on the value vs an MCR or Super Freek.

The 940bk-2003 is pretty amazing. I love the Ti scales and prefer the feel in hand over alum or G10 and the heft of Ti vs carbon fiber just feels so quality. Mine is perfect (centering and action) and the dlc blade is gorgeous (more dark grey thank black)...and the blue hardware....great looker! Yeah they MSRPd of $475 and sold at most retailers for $405 before they quickly sold out of the limited 2000 units. My problem is that the value seems to be increasing since they were limited and I wonder if I would be better off getting a less expensive 940 to carry and use and perhaps something else. I am after a Bugout (Ti, CF, or G10 scales) and 20cv steel. Would also like a MCR again and so tempted to put it on the trade/sale block. I just don't know if I can bring myself to let go of it.

I'd go super Freek. I have mini Crooked Rivers as well (standard S30v and a custom 20cv) and do enjoy them, but the Super Freek probably gets the most carry time of all my Benchmades. M4 with a pretty thin edge, comfortable handle, pretty good size, and very light. It's arguably the best Benchmade makes at the moment.

I just received a Super Freek for Christmas, so not much time with it yet. What little I have done with it, I've been very impressed. I love the M4! I have a Ritter Grip in M2HS which I dearly love and I am finding I think just as much of the Super Freek maybe even a little more. Brand new, not broken in, it opens and closes smoother and with less effort an the Ritter. The grip is very comfortable. I love the scales. So for whatever it's worth, my experience thus far with the Super Freek has been nothing but positive.

M4 beats s30v for me so unless you’re getting a custom shop mini cr, I’d go super freek. The key difference besides the steel is the full liners of the mini CR vs the partials of the super freek. The freek is more hand-filling and can handle hard use. The mini cr strikes me as more EDC friendly and easier to carry.

Mini Crooked River I say. It's anything but mini, it's perfectly hand filling, and carries and works like not too many other BM's. Overpriced, and underrated. But such is life.
