Hi, Steve! Hope you don't mind but but I messed up me zdp cyclone when I disassembled it to send the blade to Tom K. for regrind. It fell while I was taking it apart and the pieces separated and I can't tell where and how the L shaoed spring goes. Have done one and can you tell me ? Thanks.

Yeah. I have but its been a while for that particular model. Unlike the Blur and some of the others that have the bend or "L" of the ends bent the opposite way the one you have whether it be the 1630 or the 1635 model have them both bent going out the same way or to the same side just like the Leek.

So I'll post this picture from the old catalog for you and it can give you a visual and show better than I can probably tell.

If you lost anything let me know. Kershaw does a pretty good job of keeping me supplied with spare parts for a lot of the AO knives including springs, and clips but of course they do a good job getting them out to customers also.

Thanks, Steve ! That's all I need . Appreciate your help and quick reply, my friend !! How do you like the Hinderer folder? Is it as good as everybody says? I had a chance to purchase the other(flipper) but could not get the funds right away. I really enjoy reading your threads.Danny

I want the 3" with no flipper. I'm actually waiting to hear back from someone that told me he wants an XM18 that I promised first refusal to and if he backs out of taking this one I plan to list it and sell it. Its just bigger than I will ever use but as for how is it? Oh man! Rick is really knocking it out of the park with this model. I only see two areas that I'd do differently but I'll save that for another thread.

Thanks for asking

The X-18 has a the 3 inch blade? I thought that was 3 a 1/2 inch blade. I could not buy that as I have a small sebbie that Reese Weiland is reblading for me with a wharncliff S90V blade. Just not too sure if I want a $550.00 knife.

He makes both. I had one of them with a flipper. I'm starting to think I should have just kept it and taken the flipper off the thing. That would certainly have been easier than trying to find one without.

Yeah, just thought I would ask as I had asked somebody in the froum if he wanted to sell his Hinderer flipper and he said it was a piece of shit. He was trying to sell a regular non flip X-18.

I thought the flipper was unfortable personally. The guy that bought the knife from me is amazed I sold it though and loves it.

Go figure. This knife I have here now is flawless and quite comfortable but just larger than I'll ever carry or use really. I mean it isn't like I don't have some this big but when it comes to my frequent users the smaller ones see more time unless a bigger one is called for.

I rarely have use or need for anything over a 3" blade and get by with less much of the time.
