Mini Cyclone handle

I'm getting a AO kershaw for my father. He said that the handle on my leek (plain stainless) is too slippery and knives like the lahar and JYD II are too big. The JYD would be perfect if not for the AF design. Nothing against the AF, I just don't like the design. The blur is almost perfect, but I do like the flipper stud (whatever it is called) on the AO knives. How grippy is the textured aluminum handle on the mini cyclone?

If I can't find anything else, I'll get him the leek with the S30V blade and G10 handle.

Thanks,
Mike

I have 5 MC's in varying dress. While the handle isn't as grippy as say the G-10 or trac-tec inserts, what the MC does offer is it's ergonomics. It's handle shape fits really well in a large hand (and probably even better in a medium to small sized hand), and that in itself has provided enough grip for any chores I've put my MC's thru.

Some here don't like the trac-tec on the clip side. Says it eats their pants pockets up.

Go ahead and pull the trigger. He shouldn't have any problems, and if for some reason he does, a piece of skateboard tape cut to fit and put on the non-clip side will solve any problems. Hope this helps.

I suppose that if he doesn't like it, I can take it and get him the leek... Maybe I should get both, just in case... :)

He loved it. I thought about keeping it myself, it is so nice. Perfect size, feels solid in my hand, great blade shape, locks up rock solid. I think I'm going to get one for myself next time I get a folder.
