Hello all,
Im contemplating the purchase of the ZDP/TI Mini Cyclone. I would like to get an idea of the size. Could some one post a pic of there mini next to another Kershaw, preferably a Leek, ET, JYDII, Centofante, Bump or Boa. I already have all those, so next to one of them I could get a good comparison. Thanks Greg.

Hi Greg,

I just got my TiZDP Mini Cyclone on Saturday and I love it. I'll try to take some pics of it next to my 440A Leek when I get home from work. It's smaller than I remember when I played with one at the gun show, but its a good sized knife for EDC. It's right in between the Blur and Leek sizewise.

I have it with Leek.

I like the Mini Cyclone a lot, but I think Leek opens faster with the flipper and the Blur opens faster with the thumbstuds versus the Mini Cyclone using the same methods. I guess the upside is that Mini Cyclone will do both, though the thumbstud method doesn't always open fully for me. The Leek is a lot narrower in the hand than the Mini Cyclone. I find that both the Mini Cyclone and Leek fit comfortably in my hand, but I would definitely want the Mini Cyclone for longer and heavier cutting tasks. I find my Blur to be the most comfortable knife of the bunch. If they only made the Blur with a Ti framelock handle without the grip tape and added a flipper to the blade in S30v or ZDP. That would be the perfect knife. (Are you listening Kershaw/ Thomas? :D ) I'll probably order some Militec and see if I can quicken up the opening of my Mini Cyclone.

Thanks for the photos guys. Looks to be about the perfect size for me. I didn't want it longer than the leek(my favorite knive). Think I'll get one.

Funny, thats sort of what I was wishing for when I doodled this.

Of course I drew it with a studlock, but a Titanium frame would still be nice.

Unfortunately your suggestion or mine look like they would probably require a lot of expensive new tooling to make changes to an already popular knife. :(

For now we'll have to be happy with this...

comon kneedeep. what kershawnut wouldn't want that new blur?

My Ti-Cy is a great knife, it's hefty without being too bulky. A 3" blade is my most used type. The ZDP is great cutter.

kneedeep, I would buy that Blur you drew with the flipper in a heartbeat if Kershaw made it. I've contemplated having my friend weld on a flipper on my S30v Blur, but I'm guessing that would screw up the heat treatment of the blade. As for the Ti handles without the grip tape, I would think it would actually be easier as they wouldn't have to mill out the area for it on their CNC machine. The framelock part would probably require some retooling, but I'd settle for the liner lock they had as long as it had a flipper. I never really noticed before yesterday, but the Blur is really just a fatter slightly longer Leek.
