I just reciveied a new TiZDP mini cyclone, and I love it, it's a very nice knife. The only problem I seem to have with it is that it's very hard to open with the speedsafe. I had previously owned a Spec Bump and its wasn't nearly this difficult to open. Does anyone else have this same problem?

Give it a little time to smooth out. I received a NIB Tanto Cyclone today that opened fairly slowly at first, but after flicking it open a few times, it has started to speed up. I'm thinking that it takes a few open/close cycles for the black coating on the blade to polish up under the pivot.

I recently posted the same question and as Gman said all it takes is time.Still not as fast as my full sized cyclone but better than when new.

you might want to try and loosen the small screw closest to the pivot just a hair-it can cause the blade to be stiff-

There is a fine line between the pivot screw and the first small screw to get my Mini adjusted. It was a pretty tedious job tweaking the 2 screws to eliminate any hint of blade play while allowing the AO to fire. It amazed me how much the first small screw affects blade play as well as the A/O.

That is an excellent observation by DaveReb.I found that if you insert the driver into the screw and then gently hold the driver steady and just rotate the knife a little you can get more control over these adjustments.Hope this helps you with this very fine knife.
