I'm looking for a skeletonized handle fixed blade knife that is less than 6" overall. Non-serrated blade, black finish, kydex sheath, single edge with a drop-point or skinner edge. I'll be fastening it to the stock of my M6 rifle so small, flat and sturdy are the requirements. Any ideas from all you knife guys?

if I remember correctly, both Busse and Swamprat make very similar skeletonized game wardens. I am sure someone can/will correct me though:)

Take a look at the Buck Hartsook with an S30V blade and kydex sheath. Overall length is 4 1/4".

Not a skeletonized blade, but check out the spyderco street beat. I really like mine.

But that buck looks like what you need.

They're discontinued, but if you can find one...MicroTech Manus. 5 3/4" OAL with 2 or 3 different finishes & in D2. For the price, you can't beat the Buck/Hartsook, but it is real small.

RAT Cutlery is coming out soon with a small neck knife called the Izula. It comes with a kydex sheath and the final version will have a black finish (as well as olive drab and desert tan versions). It will be made out of 1095 carbon steel, so this is a plus (IMO). If you can afford to wait a while, you should wait for this one to come out. Go check out the RAT Cutlery forum in the Manufacturers section to check it out.

Edit: Oops it is 6.25 inches long, but you could grind it down a little shorter and reprofile the tip if you wanted.

My hands down fav is the Swamp Rat Warden. Good luck finding one though. I don't even see them on the exchange very often. If you see one for under $100 I say grab it. Here's a pic -- I have a cord wrap on it:

Bark river PSK i bought a instigator after the PSK and the PSK is the better knife IMO.
Easier to sharpen good ergos etc.

Strider makes a number of small fixed blade knives. Here is the ED. It"s about 6.5 inches OL.

A Gossman PSK might work. It's O1 steel, too. Don't know if he makes them in black or not.

I really like that new Izula. Does anyone know the approximate price point that it's supposed to come out at?

Another good knife, but admittedly 1/4" longer than what you stated, is the Becker BK11 (Becker Necker). I have 2 of them & absolutely love that knife.

Benchmade Instigator and CRKT N.E.C.K. triumph, i have the cord wrapped model and its a nice little knife.
