Another christmas gift. Alexis my futur brother in law (10 years old) asked me to make a little folder with a good cutting power and a real point. As it's a calm boy i don't worry to make a wharncliff blade.
Today, i finished a little friction folder with O2 blade and zebu Horn.
Weight 19g
Open 7,5 cm (5,5 without queue)
Open 10,2 cm
Blade 5,2 cm with 4,6 cm usefull
Blade thickness 3 mm
Thickness 15 mm (at the pins level)
The knife has 2 rasor blade steel wascher on each side of the blade (0,12 mm), with that washer i can have a good friction and conserve a good rotation of the blade.
Now the picture

Closed, steel pins and brass wascher to preserve the horn.

Zebu Horn is easy to work, but the odor is awfull. That is the first time i make a knife with chanel (no sandmich building)

Wharncliff blade is really small, but it's rasor sharp. It's O2 steel with total oil hardening and temper during 1 hour at 220°

Polished????

That handle sort is really easy to make, you cut in the material. A real happyness.

Really a little animal

With a quarter piece to show the size.
To resume 1 hour of work for the blade, 1 hour of temper, 4 hour of work for the handle and less that 1 euro of material. I hope to make a happy little guy the morning of chritsmas. I'm satisfied of myself on that one
.
What do you think of that baby?
