Hello,

i am struggling to make up my mind for a nice Christmas present to myself ;)

since the release of the Half track wharnie I have been really hyped by this knife

adtwr making some researches i also found the mini goblin

they are expensive knives so I cannot get both

What do you think?
If you have either of them what do you think of them?

Just to get some background information, I already have a spanto half track and I love it
I mainly edc a small inkosi DP
I like the Massdrop gent and the ZT470 as classy flipper

I have the mini goblin, its a great knife, smaller than it looks, and the tip is on the thinner side. It carries great in the pocket, fires like a rocket, drops shut, if you already have a Hinderer I would say get the MG, in my opinion Koenig has much better fit and finish than hinderer. 0771E258-E4A3-403E-867B-B245AC399043.jpeg

I’m also a Hinderer fan, but would go for Koenig, its above hinderer fit and finish, for a more heavy user I would go for Hinderer, for everyday use, MG02ED2C5C-3B7D-4E64-9607-909D2A3793B2.jpeg

USAmadeblade has a brz ano Ti in stock
Kind of like the configuration but not sure
If it is the way to go for a user...
What do you think will be better? This or a basic version?

Please save me I am about to spend a lot of money on this mini Goblin;)

At the moment is have an Hinderer halft track Battle bronze Ti and a slippy with OF scales
I am waiting for a release of a spanto XM-18 3.5’’ gen 6 not skinny to be available ;)
At ZT I have a 0393 and a 0562cf

wonder if I shall get a wharnie half track or move for a Koenig mini Gobelin ;)

If you want to try something new, you already own hinderers, the wharnie is not as good as the one by koenig, the action is better than any gen 6, I would buy the mini g and get the gen 6 later, the blade on the mg is almost as wide as hinderer, its beefier than a sebenza, so it will serve your purposes
Next to a Sebenza 25707936AA-1469-48A2-B0F7-C3067AB95520.jpeg

The blade geometry of the Hinderer allows the user to get the full edge of the blade onto the cutting surface. It seems oddly canted in relation to the handle at 1st glance, I watched the vid and saw how they thought about that when putting it together. The Koenig is close but the flipper tab is still lower than the blade edge so it wouldn't allow the edge of the blade to sit flush against a surface if that was ever desired. Anyway that's how it was designed. If your finger were in the choil of either the point would be moot.

I've got a few Hinderer's and have never been into a Warncliff blade but those half tracks have me pining for one. I don't think it would be an ideal EDC for me for every task but I think it would work great for most things and for some reason I just find it cool. Never having had a Koenig I can't compare at all but I know I personally wouldn't be dissapointed in the Hinderer. I've looked at the MG a few times and other Warncliff bladed knives but it wasn't until I started seeing the half track that I started even being remotely interested in them.

I'm late. Looks like you've made your decision. FWIW I've included a quick photo of my MG next to some of my other Wharncliffes. I've never owned or held the Halftrack Wharnie.

One of USAMADEBLADES Youtube vids shows the MG laying next to the Halftrack. Surprisingly, the OAL of the Halftrack is slighter shorter than the MG. I prefer knives with 3.5" blades, but I find the MG so beautifully designed and well executed that it's staying in my collection...for now. Time and use will tell.

One negative (and a pretty big one): The "ice cream cone" taper of the short handle is so dramatic that I often feel that my last two fingers have very little to grip, forcing me to concentrate on gripping with my thumb, index and middle fingers. This takes a bit for me to get accustomed to. I have medium hands (they fit Mechanix gloves size M perfectly). Even the diminutive Brad Zinker Dog Tooth (pictured above the MG) with its relatively straight handle shape fits better in my hand.

Hope this helps. Looking forward to learning about your experiences with the MG.
