Okay, so I've never used my Mini Grip (556) on food before a couple of days ago when I decided to try it on a tomato I wanted to slice for my lunch. That thing went through like a laser. It actually startled me and I had to resist the urge to slice the entire rest of the tomato just for fun.

Next day I sliced more tomato with a serrated kitchen knife and it just was not as smooth and effortless as it was with with my Mini Grip. I should have tried it a loooong time ago.

Hi Moondrop -

I have recently gained a new-found love for my mini-grip.

I had not been carrying the knife because the stock pocket-clip allowed too much of the handle to protrude from my pocket.

I asked STR to make a low-rider clip for the "grippie", and now it is the knife I put in my pocket for duty around the house, in the workshop, yard etc.

I do agree - the knife takes and holds a great edge, although I have never tried slicing tomatoes with it.

best regards -
