$80 for a 3 inch 154cm steel blade, FRN scales, and the axis lock? I checked around a few sites (cutleryshoppe, knifeworks) and they all have it for over $80 now. Benchmade was always pretty expensive but it's getting kinda ridiculous now. Sucks because I like the axis lock alot and its fun to play with :(. I know that knifeworks gives an online discount for the mini grip but does anyone know the exact price for it after the discount?

The price after "discount" on Knifeworks is 75% of their advertised price. So if it's $80, then it should be $80 * .75 = $60.

Thanks, that pretty much makes it the same price that it used to be  :D. Still not sure why all the other sites are charging near msrp for it though. Odd.

Because Benchmade uses a MAP program with its dealers.

Because Benchmade has switched over to MAP for their pricing policies. Retailers are forced to advertise the prices for Benchmade products no lower than the prices Benchmade allows.

*Doh, late. What dano said :)

Try ebay. Got mine for $67 shipped, cheapest I could find.

what is the purpose of this if dealers are able to just offer discount codes and things like that ?

helps to make sure that dealers are the ones dealing, and cuts out the kitchen table sellers....sorta like what Victorinox is doing, you gotta be an authorized dealer, and you gotta sdvertise at xxx price. not something I completely agree with, but I can understand it
