I have three different Mini Grips, two drop points and a sheepsfoot. All three of them struggle to not have the pivot screws come loose all the time. I've taken all three apart and used 243 on them to the point I wet the entire screw on one and let it set for a few days and it's loose again. What am I doing wrong???

i usually use white plumbers thread tape on my pivots, i prefer it to locktite because it can still be adjusted & there’s no wait time for it to dry. can’t use to much tho or it’ll strip off the treads when you screw it in. about 1 1/2 wraps around the pivot screw does the trick

I may have to try that on these. Someone at work said he uses a drop of clear nail polish around the screw head to lock it in place.

I have only ever used blue loctite (not sure the #, but whatever they had at a hardware store) and haven't had any issues. I clean the old stuff off the threads, use a very small amount, adjust to my liking and let it sit overnight.

I might try thread tape next time though!
