How normal is it for my Mini Grip to have side to side play when it's closed. No matter how tight or loose the pivot is, it seems like when I push on the thumb stud the blade goes all of the way over to the liner before opening. Is this normal?

Most production knives have some blade play when closed.
How hard are you pushing on it?
Is it new, did you buy it new?

Yes, I bought it new. I've had it since last Wednesday. I'm only pushing hard enough to get purchase, sometimes a little harder to flick it open. My ZTs don't have this problem, though they're a little more expensive. [emoji1]

The blade is also off center to that side

That is a more well known concerned that a lot of people have (myself included). Straightening the blade out is a little tricky, but not impossible. Give this a try.
1- Loosen all the screws the the appropriate torx driver
2- Using a small folded piece of paper, wedge it next to the blade and liner on the side where it is touching.
3- Tighten all the screws, starting with the pivot.
4- remove the paper and slightly back the pivot off until it is where you want it.

That helped both problems thank you!

I've personally had the best luck with smaller Axis-locking Benchmades when over-tightening the pivots after applying blue threadlocker, allowing to cure overnight, then lubing and working the action to the desired opening/closing tension. Then and only then have I ever been satisfied with the amount of side to side play, which is usually very little to none after this process.
