Mini-Grip/Sequel Blade Swap: Possible? Anyone Tried It?

Howdy folks,

The Benchmade Mini Griptillian and 707 Sequel look so near-identical, it seems like I ought to be able to take the (jimped, thumb-ramped) blade from the Minigrip and pop it right into the (slim, discrete, more easily pocketable) Sequel handle, thus getting the best of both knives.

Has anyone tried this? Am I crazy to think it could be done? I thought it would be easier/cheaper to just go ahead and get custom scales for the Minigrip, but it doesn't seem like that's the case.

Looking forward to hearing from anyone who's had success (or failure) with this.

I have both knives & I don't think it's possible.
But, I will check them out for a side by side and get back to you later today.
I do believe the stop to axis lock dimensions are quite different, but I could be wrong.
More later.

Nope.
Tried it.
Blades are same thickness & length with same diameter pivot.
But, once swapped neither knife is operational.
Some customizing of blade and/or stop pin would be needed to make the switch work.

Thanks for the effort and info. It's too bad, really. A 707 with a improved grip/ergonomics would be a great knife.
