My dad recently bought a combo edge Mini Griptilian immediately after seeing mine. I hadn't seen his in person until yesterday but I noticed it doesn't appear to have the primary bevel on it? (If I'm not mistaking terminology) Is this a problem? He's been using it everyday and the 7 day return window is gone but the knife does appear to be sharp.

Here's pictures for reference

It's just that the bevel is very shallow, most Benchmade knives have shallow bevels like that. It's nothing to worry about really.

Very obtuse angles on almost all Grips. Another thing, if you use the knife, the store won't take it back more than likely, because it's been used.

Just reprofile it and thin out that edge a bit. Easy fix and it'll make it cut better too. I basically expect to have to reprofile and new benchmades at this point. They seem to be getting better with factory sharpness as of late but the bevels are usually far too obtuse for my taste.

There is always variation in productin knives. If it is sharp, use it, and when it needs touched up, do it the way you want. If either of you aren't real good at sharpening, there is a member here (Richard J) who will make it as sharp as it can possibly be, for a very reasonable fee, and he has very quick turn around.
