Mini Griptilian Pivot

So I sent in my mini grip for warranty because the blade got knocked of center and it was rubbing on the inside of the scales. It came back all fine and dandy, but, I can't get that perfect balance of no blade play and the blade gliding nice and smooth. I've spent hours trying to get the pivot perfect but when it's tight enough for no play, it's nowhere near how it was out of factory. I can understand it getting like that with age (it's not old by any means though) but since I just sent it back I would assume it would've been perfected and troubleshooter by benchmade when they put on a completely new blade. So, suggestions on what I can do besides send it back in for warranty? (I've already shot them an email too, but I figured I'd ask you guys)

So, few minutes later I washed it in the sink with dish soap and got it feeling smooth, still not close to factory but better. Then I added some LPS and I think I over-lubed it a bit and now it's slower than it was when I finished washing and drying it. I think over-lubing it might have added to the problem over time also

Just to clarify.

You sent it in because it was not centered.. " Got knocked off" ??

Came back from factory centered . Factory setting.

YOU TWEEKED IT.
Now your not happy and want the factory to rework what you DID..

I think you need stonger fingers.

When it came back from warranty it wasn't like it was new in that aspect, the centering was fixed and I was very happy with that but it wasn't like it was previously. I can deal with it, I'm just wondering if I can do anything to improve how it is now which is not as smooth as it was, it's not a crime to long for a knife to be smoother. It was already like this BEFORE I tweaked it, I tweaked it to see if I could make it better and I couldn't at first. I don't want the factory to rework what I did, I wanted to know if there was anything they or I could do to rework it and get it back to how it was before warranty and such. My fingers are plenty strong, I can open the knife fine, but I just hoped it would be the same as it was considering they put a completely new blade on, I can deal with the changes, i don't necessarily like being treated like an 8 year old girl and told I need to get better at opening knives. I'm sure there are fully grown muscular adults out there with knives they wish could be smoother just for the fact that it feels nice not because they're to weak to open it

You can adjust the pivot tension with a Torx bit (#8 or 10, not sure which); just a few degrees turn makes a difference. I lube the washers with a tiny drop of BreakFree from time to time, usually after washing the knife with dishwasher soap after using it for food prep.

Yeah I've been messing with the pivot, I think at this point I've gotten it to a much better adjustment, will have to look around for different oils and such to try, I've also found both of my benchmades perform great dry too but I've learned that with oiling knives, too much will do you in, thanks for the advice

A lite oil works best.

Mineral oil.
Shot of wd 40
3in1.
