All right fellas - I recently bought a CQC14 and am getting rid of it since it's just not right for me. I really liked it at first but over time it wasn't for me.

I love my mini-grip but want the handle to be a tad bigger.

I got to thinking - Would I be able to fit the blade from a mini-griptillian in the handle from a full sized griptillian?

Another option may be to get Tom Krein to clip/reshape a full size blade into a mini sized blade.

Or give it a nice warnie shape by cutting off a half inch of the nose

Now that is a man after my heart - Good thinking. I'm all about the wharnies! Also, I wouldn't have to canibalize two knives either.

I'll keep an eye out in the exchange.

Quick iPhone photo chop :D

Another crappy iPhone photo chop...

Another thing that would make the grip better IMHO is to have Tom bump the guard area on the grinder to knock off some of the HUGE guard. This would create more room for your hand, and let you choke up close to the edge should you want to.

IMHO the grips guards are too large on both the large and the small YMMV

I'd cut off where the red line is, the bottom grip is with the guard knocked down a tad

That's sweet looking. It reminds me of a cross between that AG Russell folding kitchen knife and a Kershaw Needs Work.

It looks super functional and just plain cool.

I'm keeping an eye out for a cheap full-size grip in the exchange.

Thanks for taking the time to PS that for me

IIRC, the blades are different thicknesses. One won't just drop in where the other one was. So-Lo prolly has the best suggestion about getting Tom Krein to reprofile a standard Grip blade for you.
