Does anyone know why my brand new benchmade mini griptillian has what seems to be a detention issue and how to fix it?

I think he means either retention, or no detent holding the blade in place (detention) - which could mean the Omega spring has broken and it would need to be replaced. It's covered under the lifetime warranty.

Now let's see if I got that right.

Makes sense. I was picturing it talking back to the homeroom teacher and getting held after class.

Mama 550 is gonna be angry when it gets home.

Yea if its blade retention when closed, the detent, I'd just send it back and be done with it. However if you really wanted to try fix it yourself you could get aftermarket omega springs online, they're available and easy to find. Benchmade won't send the springs out. However I think it's probably more involved than that.
