nice piece! did you put the BOS logo on there, or was that part of the heat treat?

Curious about that as well , either way that is a pretty nice looking knife.

Thanks for the comments! To answer your question, I make my own Paul Bos stencil to go on my blades. As far as I know, Paul Bos does not offer stencils made by his shop. I know the idea has come up on this forum, as it would make it harder to "fake" a Bos heat treating job (I personally save all my invoices from Paul Bos in case a customer wants proof).

This material is actually decent to work with. It bandsaws easily w/ an 18tpi metal blade and drills without any chipping if you go slow and careful. Sanding is a little slow and hard on the belts, and hand sanding must be done to 1000 grit to have a smooth glassy surface. White rouge on a felt wheel brings out a nice shine. One helpful trick is to drill your holes slightly oversize to avoid breakage in pinning- any gaps around your pins can be filled in w/ epoxy and stone dust and sanded smooth with the surface, although I have not have this problem yet. The green malachite composite as well as some others have inclusions that can be filled in the same manner. See http://jantzsupply.com/cartease/sea...imary&string=Gemstone&string2=Handle Material for more available colors and info.
